The Five Key Principals of Good Graphic Design

What are the most exciting and artistic ways to render a graphic design? Have you ever noticed that the best designs on the Internet have certain quality or essence about them? In fact, there are five key principles that make graphic design truly stand out and original. Here are the five techniques to apply to all of your graphic design projects.

1. Keep it clean. Clarity is one of the unsung heroes and methods of successful graphic design renderings. Clarity gives the composition room to breathe and live on the page.I was looking for more information and found it here.
2. Keep it simple. Simplicity does not mean your graphic design should only consist of three colors and three images. On the contrary, simplicity is different from minimalism by the way all of the components on the page are organized.
3. Stay organized. Organization is the key to success concerning all graphic design templates and projects.
4. Strive for balance. Balance is one of the most important principles in design. This is how everything is arranged on the page. Furthermore, balance is how everything comes together in harmony.
5. Aim for symmetry. Symmetry is the juxtaposition of images on the page.

So, you have finally finished your artwork and you are looking for a place to display it on the Internet. With so many websites and options available, how do you know what is right for you? Here are some tips and tricks to consider when you are researching the best ways to show your artwork online.

Finding the Best Host

If possible, stay away from social media networks such as Facebook or MySpace. Although they are a great way for you to meet fans and spread word about your upcoming projects, you need something more professional for your portfolio. Find a host that will allow people to easily see your work and contact you for additional information.

Creating a Domain Name

Make sure your domain name is catchy. If you opt to pay for your hosting, you have the choice of creating your own name strictly for your site. Free sites choose domain names such as “yourname.hostname.com,” which is not professional. Your domain name should include your name or be very easy to remember. If you choose a business-sounding name, make sure it does not have weird or quirky spellings, as people are more likely to forget it. Try to obtain a .com name, if possible.

Ensuring a Simple Design

Above all, the most important thing to remember is to keep your design simple. People are more likely to stick around and view your work if they can actually find your pieces. While it may be tempting to make your page incredibly flashy, people are there to see your pieces. You want to ensure that you have clear links for your biography, artwork and contact information. It may be boring, but it is effective.

Stay away from flash galleries and watermarks. While they may be effective in stopping others from stealing your work, if someone wants your pieces badly enough, they can take a screen capture and get them anyway. Odd thumbnails and texts may also deter visitors. Remember to keep everything on your site simple and functional.

Web design is becoming easier and easier for the general consumer. Anyone can design and build their own website. However, there are several principles to abide by to assure that the design is the best possible that attracts the most traffic. These principles are:

Always stick to using 1 or 2 fonts for typography.

Maintain a flow that is simple for the lowest common user on the site.

Pay attention to color. Different colors mean different things.

Draw attention to the elements that are primary functions.

Keep it simple. Simple and lightweight is best.

The last point is the one that is the most important. Even if the site looks good, if the site isn’t functional, accessible or takes far too long to load, the user isn’t going to want to use the site and traffic for that site dwindles.

Less traffic means death for any site.

One thing to keep in mind is that not all people viewing the site will have the same internet capabilities. Internet Service and internet service providers are very different for each individual user.

In some cases, users are using wireless internet which may or may not be 4G internet like Clear Internet.

So the questions to ask are:

Is the website design going to be support by all internet providers?

Will the user be able to access the information quickly and efficiently without getting frustrated and leaving the site?

Web design is a powerful tool that can make or break a website. It is always important to focus an aesthetics, because users are drawn to things that are pleasing to the eye.

However, it is more important to build a website that anyone can access from anywhere.

Web users who connect with http://www.clearwirelessinternet4g.com/ enjoy fast, on-the-go access. Learn more by checking out the website!

When you enter a career as a graphic designer, you are not only providing a service to a company, but you are staying true to your artistic abilities. You can create layouts for companies to use on their webpages or presentations. The avenue that you want to take is left up to you. Some companies have specific things that they want listed on their pages, but the rest is up to you. The colors and text can be decided by you. This is one of the fields that still offer options for employees. You can either work for yourself or for a larger company. If you are in business for yourself, then you can set your own hours and decide which projects you want to work on. If you work for a large company, then you need to abide by their requests, but you still have some discretion in what you create.
As you progress as a graphic designer, the options will increase. You should keep a portfolio of your work so that you can show potential clients. If you can prove that you are good at designing, then you will probably have a bright future as a graphic designer.

The world of graphic design is ever changing, but with a few constants. If you have an aptitude for design, there are techniques and tools that will certainly help you succeed. Regardless of what medium you choose to work in, patience, perseverance, and a willingness to learn will always be important.

If you are self taught, you can still have a fruitful career as a designer. It may take a bit more effort, but it’s certainly possible. Keeping your eye on the competition, and trends in the industry is extremely important. This isn’t to suggest that you copy the work of others, it simply gives you a perspective on what other successful designers are doing in today’s market.

Assuming you are using computer software to create your graphics, it helps to stick with one popular program, and learn the application from front to back. Read the manuals, do the tutorials, and research every article that is published about the program and it’s capabilities. Often times the manufacturer of a design program will sponsor competitions that will showcase the best of the best. Take advantage of these contests by entering when you qualify, and following the winners and their work.

I am a mosaic artist and always looking for new ideas to keep my art fresh but sometimes I just get stuck. Artists do get stuck at some point in time and going for a walk outside can be the best place to see or find something to inspire. Finding a piece of driftwood or old rusted pieces of metal might be just the thing to add more depth or interest to a collage or mosaic piece. Artists and crafters always want to know how to make a piece of metal look old, try going for a walk and looking for the real thing. Visiting galleries and shops that sell art and looking online at the works of artists doing the same thing you’re trying to do are also good places for inspiration and could bring new life and ideas to your project. Not to copy or steal ideas but to see how others use color or design to make a piece exciting or unusual and all theirs. Maybe they got stuck and went for a walk. Could be they found a piece of rusted old tin and used it in their art in a way you never thought of!

If you are an artist, then you are blessed with the skills to create unique, beautiful and breathtaking masterpieces. As an artist, you surely put a lot of focus and dedication into each piece that you create. Unfortunately, artists are subject to getting stuck in a rut. It is normal to get stuck in a rut and feel uninspired, but you should know that there are ways to get out of that rut. You can easily keep your art fresh and exciting by changing things up a bit.

If you find that you are feeling stuck, then allow yourself to experience a change of scenery. Do you normally work in a studio or your home? If so, then go to a park or a museum to find some inspiration. The change of routine may inspire you to create something fresh and unique. If you have friends that are artists, you may be able to collaborate with them to create something new. It does not matter if you work with different mediums or have different tastes; you may be able to create something wild and unheard of by blending your methods with other artist’s methods. You might be feeling stuck, but you don’t have to. Change things up, and you will surely feel a burst of creative inspiration.

Graphic design is a constantly evolving and advancing field that utilizes new technologies and technigues every day. But despite the always-changing landscape of what can be done in and with graphic design elements the same basic rules and techniques hold true no matter what. One of these involves how to imply movement in an otherwise motionless graphical art-form.

The best way to imply dynamic motion in a design is to adhere to the basic rules of design regarding the effect you’re simulating. Use diagonal composition to imply speed and urgency to the image. This creates an illusion of movement toward one direction, whereas the same image composed in a standard flat, rectangular pattern may not. Repetition within patterns can also help show movement. Multiple instances of the same design arranged next to each other cause the audience to see them as moving across the image together.

The choice of shapes utilized in the design can also help imply movement. Just like with the composition, a square or rectangle will often convey static imagery in a boring, flat way. Use triangular shapes and sharp, pointed angles instead to convey a sense of moving. In this same way, when working with animal or human figures in design, by depicting them in uncomfortable angled positions the brain is tricked into perceiving them as in the process of a movement rather than still life. The information doesn’t stop now. Keep looking: 100 ideas that changed graphic design
