Go to EDIT / PASTE and paste your ellipsed watermark image into your main image

As you can see its too big, so what we have to do is resize it.  Go to your toolbar and choose your Deform Tool

Then click on SCALE

Now, while holding down your shift key on your keyboard, grab the corner of the box and drag it down till you have a more suitable size ellipse

Now it fits the image much better as shown below

Next, go to FILTER / STYLIZE / EMBOSS

pswmtut26.jpg (37079 bytes)

Apply the EMBOSS with the following settings

pswmtut27.jpg (23845 bytes)

Here's where the magic starts !! Click on your Layers Tab, and where it shows Normal, click on the dropdown menu

pswmtut28.jpg (16307 bytes)

Choose SOFT LIGHT

pswmtut29.jpg (14733 bytes)

Now magically your ellipse is transparent.

pswmtut30.jpg (23405 bytes)

Move it around over your image and see how it blends with any part of your image allowing the photo to show through

pswmtut31.jpg (6871 bytes)

Now you can merge your layers as shown below, OR you can choose to change the way your watermark looks by following the next few steps

pswmtut32.jpg (28420 bytes)

Click on your Deform Tool once more

pswmtut33.jpg (3579 bytes)

Now drag one of your corners down, to give it a 'slant'  Play with it till you are happy with it

pswmtut35.jpg (25089 bytes)

When you're happy with how your watermark is placed, do one last LAYER / MERGE / FLATTEN

pswmtut15.jpg (29069 bytes)

Now you have a Watermark that blends right in with the image, but yet makes the image less desirable for someone to use.

wmtut35.jpg (36664 bytes)           wmtut36.jpg (34498 bytes)           wmtut38.jpg (33881 bytes)

Be sure to save your watermark image to resuse over and over, as either a psd or a jpeg file
